Mr. Politzer has over thirty years of experience in asset management at leading financial institutions. He has extensive experience in trading and investing in several asset classes, including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Derivatives; he has also served as an advisor to several senior government officials, including ministers of finance and Central Bank governors.

Before joining BigSur Partners, Mr. Politzer worked in the hedge fund industry at Stark Investments (2006-2008) and River Capital (2001-2005). In 1999, Mr. Politzer took on the role of Chief Strategy Officer for Patagon, an equity brokerage and online banking firm in the U.S., Europe and Latin America, which was sold to Grupo Santander in 2001. At ING, he was Managing Director- Deputy Head of Global High Yield, Emerging Markets and Derivatives in the Americas (1998-1999); he was Managing Director at UBS – Deputy Head of Global Emerging Market Trading, Sales and Research (1996-1999) and also Managing Director – Head of Global Emerging Markets Proprietary Trading for Chase Manhattan Bank (1995-1996). From 1982-1995, Mr. Politzer worked at JPMorgan, serving last as Managing Director and Head of Global Emerging Markets Derivatives. Mr. Politzer earned his Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1982.
